This was an installation in Gloucester. The customer works from home, and currently runs their heating on heating oil. With the rising cost of oil and LPG, they not only wanted to reduce their electricity bills, but if they could reduce the impact of the cost of heating oil that would also help. They also wanted the option to install batteries down the line if required.
13 390w panels were installed for a total peak output of 5000W. As the roof isn’t a perfect orientation, specifying slightly more panels that the maximum inverter output means they will perform better in the Spring/Autumn Months.
We also installed a Eddi Energy Diverter. An Eddi senses when their is excess solar output, and diverts it to the immersion heater on the hot water storage. This allows for hot water to be produced effectively for free when there is excess production.
This was combined with a Solax inverter, which gives great reliability and can also be monitored remotely with wifi. The install allows for batteries to be retrofitted if the customer wishes to do so at a later date.
